Ceremonies

All the clans have special ceremonies to promote and demote cats.

Leader's call Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath *_____
for a clan meeting!!

Leader
When a cat becomes Clan leader, he or she must travel to the Moonpool and share tongues with the warrior ancestors of StarClan. The Clans medicine cat accompanies them on the journey but leaves them alone for the ceremony, in which the leader is granted eight extra lives and a new name with "star" at the end of it.

During the ceremony, each life is given to the new leader by a cat whose life was significant to the new leader in some way.

Examples of lives:
Courage, justice, loyalty to what he knows to be right, tireless energy, protection, mentoring, compassion, love, nobility, certainty, and faith.


Deputy
Leader walks out before Moon-high, says a few thing about previous Deputy.

Leader: I say these words before the body of ______ (old deputy name) (This one is for when the old deputy died) or I say these words before the Spirits of StarClan (if old deputy was exiled or left...), so that they will be able to hear and approve my choice. ________ (name of warrior) will be the new deputy of _____Clan. _______,(name of warrior chosen as deputy) do you accept?

Warrior chosen to be deputy: I do/ don't


Apprentice
Leader calls clan meeting and call six moon old kit(s) to stand before the leader.

Leader: _____kit, you are now six moons old and you are ready to begin your warrior training. From now on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as ______paw.

The leader then calls a warrior forward.

Leader: _______ (warrior's name), you are now ready to receive an apprentice/ another apprentice. You will mentor _____paw, may you pass on (two attributes) to him/her.


Warrior
Leader to cat's mentor: _____(name of mentor), are you satisfied this apprentice is ready to become a warrior of ______Clan?

Mentor to Leader: Yes/No (If they want a short explanation of whatever might have happened in training in why they should be made a warrior).

Leader to StarClan: Then I _____star, leader of ____Clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. S/he has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her/him to you as a warrior in her/his turn.

Leader to apprentice: _____paw, do do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?

Apprentice to leader: I do/ don't

Leader to apprentice: Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this moment on you shall be known as __________ (warrior name). StarClan honors your _______ (attribute shown while apprentice, ie: loyalty), and your _____________(another attribute, ie: intelligence), and we welcome you as a full warrior of _____Clan.

*Clan members greet the new warrior by their new name, and that night that cat must sit vigil(watch) alone, not speaking until dawn, when a another warrior relieves them.*

Medicine cat brings the apprentice to the Moonpool.


Medicine Cat Apprentice

Medicine Cat: I present ____paw to StarClan. He/she has chosen to the path of the medicine cat, and I will train her/him. Now, he/she will share tongues with you to understand the secrets of our noble code.

Medicine cat and medicine cat apprentice wait to receive sign from StarClan dreams.


Medicine Cat

Medicine Cat: I, _______ (medicine cat's name), medicine cat of _____Clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He/she has trained hard to understand the way of the medicine cat, and with your help he/she will serve his/her clan for many moons. ______paw, do you promise to uphold the ways of the medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between clans, and to protect all cat equally, even at the cost of your life?

Apprentice: I do/ don't.

Medicine Cat: Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your true name as a medicine cat. _____paw, from this moment on you will be known as ________ (medicine cat name). StarClan honors your _____ and your _______ (2 attributes).

Medicine cat rests head on apprentices head, and apprentice licks their mentor's shoulder.


Elder

Leader: ______(name of warrior/ medicine cat), is it your wish to give up the name of warrior and go to join the elders?

Warrior/ Medicine cat: It is/isn't.

Name Change Ceremony
Leader steps out before their Clan (where ever they usually address their clan from).

Leader: Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to lift this name from him/her, for it no longer stands for what she/he is. His/Her new name will be _______ (warrior name). (also, if the leader wishes, they can add a brief explanation about why they gave that name)[/blockquote]
