"Yes Lynxcloud?" the tabby took in a deep breath, hoping to calm down some, but it only made her heart pound faster as her nostrils filled with his scent. she opened her mouth to speak, but no words out. "i think..." she mewed, hardly audible, "i..." her eyes grew wider as she near the finally two words. 'love you, say it now and stop making yourself look like you're mouse-brained!' "i, ahh... i think i love you, taintedstorm," she said, pulling away from her icy stare. she felt humiliated. she was an idiot. did she really believe that this tom, this thunderclan tom, could ever love her? yes, she did, but some of that might have just come from the fact that she so desperately wanted it to be true.

"i have to go taintedstorm," she said, rising to her paws, looking back at the tom with sorry blue eyes for a moment, and then adding "this is against the code, for us to be here with each other, especially like this." and with that, she began to pad of toward the windclan and riverclan border, where she could think.
