Yellow-gold eyes carefully watched the horses. They were large, bulky creatures. They weren't as bulky as the cows though. Their feet could crush a cat easily. She watched a bay colored mare graze, a filly standing at her side suckling. They were beautiful creatures, though deadly if spooked. She made sure that they saw her cross the grassy area to the pasture so that they wouldn't be too spooked at seeing a small creature with teeth and claws. She brushed past the mare with the filly, spotting even more mares and fillies out farther in the pasture. She sniffed at the doors of the stable, slipping in as she smelled the mice. Her orange ears pricked, hearing scurrying in various corners of the room. Her eyes tracked a movement, then she pounced, paws grabbing one that tried to escape into a hay pile.
Quickly she ended the mouse's life and in quick bites, finished it. She had been starving, being locked up in that place. The twolegs were stupid and left a window open. She had help getting the dratted collar off and she quickly fled out into the forest. Licking her lips she raised her head, overlooking the edge of the floor up above, there was more hay. She remembered meeting a tom here, back when the snow was falling. Gramps, or Sin, as he was named. She wondered how he was doing. There was another cat she met, she had led him to the barn to hunt. His name escaped her....did it start with an E? She thought it did. 'It was Ebony dear...' she muttered a soft thank you as she curled up near the pile of hay, looking up at a stall, a large black stallion was in it. He nickered softly, lowering his head as his nostrils flared.
"I'm not much of a threat ya big dog, I'm just here for the mice," she meowed softly, turning her gaze away to the other piles of loose hay.

ebony the toms icy blue eyes watched the she-cat as she enter the horses stable. He and his sister, ivory lived here, safely above the horses dangerous hooves in a small coop where the farmers. he had seen what a spooked horse could do to a same animal like him. 'poor thing...' he thought, remembering the little pup that was given to the farmer grand-daughter and found a way in here a couple moons ago. the little rat-like creature was trampled to death; he couldn’t stop that hideous yapping for the life of him. but the tom didn’t miss him, he liked it here with just him, his sister, and the horses.
a smile spread across the toms face as he listened to the she-cat whispering to herself. he had met her before; skittles was her name, if he remembered correctly. she was a pretty… interesting cat, honestly. ebony laughed at the thought and then stretched himself, and he walked toward the ladder and leaping down to the ground with a soft ‘thump.’
“well, hello there, stranger.” the jet black tom said with a playful grin on his face as he walked in a slowly, rhythmic motion toward ginger and white she-cat and plopped himself down on a batch of soft hay. he rose one black paw to his maw, giving it a few quick licks, then wiped it quickly across his face. his icy eyes flicked over to the horses, one large black stallion in particular, who always seemed to have an eye on him whenever he was down on the ground. the fur on his back bristled slightly, sensing the huge horses dark eyes staring at him.
“long time no see, huh?”

She started to lick her chest, pulling at the hair a little bit. Her ears perked up, hearing scurrying noises not far from where she was laying. She quickly darted up and after the brown body. She was quicker than it, catching it between her paws and tossing it up in the air. She held the body in her mouth, taste buds tingling in delight. Trotting back near the hay pile she tossed the mouse, not really in a hurry to eat it. Laying down she took a bite, licking her lips at the wonderful flavor of the mouse meat. A familiar new scent entered her nose, though she paid no attention to it as she took another bite of the mouse. “well, hello there, stranger.” Her yellow-gold eyes looked up, staring at the black tom, his icy blue eyes captivating. He was so familiar...who was he?
“long time no see, huh?” Her half-chewed meat nearly fell out of her mouth. Quickly swallowing she sat up. "It has been a long time...couple of moons eh? How have you been Ebony? Life treatin' ya well?" she cracked a smirk, before returning to her meal. She felt some prodding at her brain, ears twitched, falling back as her whiskers quivered. "He he...I do not believe...you and I have met..." Lime had taken over, Skittles was loosing control of her. This personality tossed the mouse carcass into the far corner, snorting. Strutting up to the black tom she stuck her muzzle near his own, whiskers brushing, twitching. Pulling away she chuckled softly, ears swiveling forth.
"Ebony Ebony, you should really choose better friend...he he...Skits is a bit...not right in the head. Don't listen to he- Oh I hate it when that happens...well...you wouldn't understand how it feels," [/b][/color] she chuckled softly, sitting a few mouse-tails away from him. Bringing a paw to her face she gave it a few licks before drawing it over her face, cleaning her whiskers.[/blockquote]

ebony the tom flinched, his blue eyes confused and frightened. his heart pounding quickly in fear. he hadn’t forgotten about how… interesting the she-cat had been, but he certainly hadn’t been expecting some cat to jump into his face and have two very distinct voices. he quickly gathered himself, rising to his paws and sat up straight and on edge. “i think i can handle it, thank you very much.” he growled to the second voice, his confusion and fear turning into frustration. his tail began to flick and his eyes stared harshly at the she-cat. ‘what is going on? she must be one of those loonies.’ he thought. ‘how have you been Ebony? Life treatin’ ya well?’ he like the first ‘voice’ much better. ‘Ebony Ebony, you should really choose better friend...he he...Skits is a bit...not right in the head…’ and then it dawned on him that she must have had split personalities or something of the sort.
“i’ve been quite well; prey here is running great, as you can see…” he said in a much calmer voice, though he was still wary of the she-cat. his icy eyes darted over toward to the mouse’s small body skittles had tossed into the corner of the stable, and then back. his teeth grind-ed against each other; he was uncomfortable being so close to the she-cat, and it wasn’t at all hard to figure out. the dark-colored tom managed to crack a smile though it was a rather weak smile. anyone with a brain would be able to see through it.
ebony is a very emotional cat, thus he often finds it difficult to hide these emotions, especially in a situation as awkward as this one. Body language is key in completely understanding this tom, and once being around him for a certain length of time, one will find he truly is not that complicated; it just depends on what you choose to see.
’run, run!’ he thought instinctively, but remained sitting still. very still. maybe if he didn't move she wouldn't be able to see him, or would think hes dead, like opossums act when they are threatened. he was the opossum and she was the dog. the danger. the threated. he remain still. he was [playing] dead.

Lime smirked to herself, wondering how badly she could mess up this relationship. She could feel Skittles trying to claw for control, to warn Ebony, to tell him not to believe Lime, to stay away from the sadistic she-cat persona. Her lips twitched, ginger colored tail lashing behind her as she fought with herself. “i think i can handle it, thank you very much. Lime laughed at his reply. So he thought he could handle the insanity? "I hope you're right boy...I hope you're right," she sneered, feeling her control fading. Skittles sighed, ears flickering back as she curled up again, giving him the space that Lime had invaded, feeling ashamed that she had let her guard down like that. She could feel the heated gaze upon her fur. Soon it was gone, along with Lime's dreaded voice..for now.
“i’ve been quite well; prey here is running great, as you can see…” Skittles let her head fall up and down into a curt nod. "I am glad that you have been well....and I apologize...." her 'brows furrowed as yellow-gold eyes flickered over at the black tom. He looked...uncomfortable...like he wanted to run. This was all her fault...of she didn't let Lime get control all of the time. She was scared to speak...would Lime's voice come out instead of her own? "I'm sorry...for making you uncomfortable..." she muttered, turning on her side and looking at him.

ebony;; "I hope you're right boy...I hope you're right," a growl rumbled in his throat, his toms claws flexing, digging deeper into the hay further, but then reclined back into his sheaths. she couldn't help it, but he couldn’t help but feel uneasy around here, either. he became more at easy when the she-cat moved back a bit; his ears weren’t sitting on his skull anymore, and his whiskers weren’t brushing against his muzzle. he needed his space to be calm, especially if some cat is giving him some reason not to be, like skittles had been doing.
the tom watched as the she-cat lowered her head, and speak the words "I am glad that you have been well....and I apologize...." he could tell by the way she was sitting that she was ashamed. a sudden burst of sadness rushed through him. he felt terrible for reacting the way he did, and causing the she-cat such troubles. this wasn’t her fault, not entirely, as least; she could help it. he rose from his resting position and carefully leapt over to she-cat, and sat down next to her. his icy blue eyes were shining like pools of sympathy. “no, no… its fine, honestly… its okay… i’m fine… the black tom mewed reassuringly, “i’m sorry… i shouldn’t have reacted so poorly… you don’t have to be sorry. no big deal…” a smile spread across his face, much more confident than before, but quite dorky. ebony lifted one paw and brought it to the she-cats chin, raising it gently so that he could look her in the eyes. “…its okay…” he whispered once more.

She still couldn't believe she let Lime get control like that. Lime could do some terrible things when in control. She shivered, remembering that one time when she had met a young kit, that was the last time she had let her control slip. She looked over at him warily, she wouldn't care if he left, to save himself the trouble. They all did eventually. She watched as he leaped over to her, she didn't want his sympathy or want him to waste his kindness towards her. She didn't need it nor want him to get hurt. She tried to shuffle away but she couldn't find the will to.
“no, no… its fine, honestly… its okay… i’m fine…" “i’m sorry… i shouldn’t have reacted so poorly… you don’t have to be sorry. no big deal…” She shook her head, yellow-gold eyes staring at him, at his smile. It seemed like a true smile, looking away she let out a mental sigh. Feeling something beneath her chin she glanced at him to his leg aiming toward her face. His paw was beneath her chin. She stared into the icy depths that were his eyes. “…its okay…” "Its...okay...?" she whispered, her eyes half-open as she look at him, like in a trance. She felt the blood rushing to her face and ears and immediately pulled away, slightly embarrassed. No one had ever been so close or touched her like that before, though...it felt good, to have someone to talk to, to talk to, to be close with. 'It seems everything becomes okay when you are here all of a sudden....'

ebony;; A purr rumbled in the dark pelted toms throat. It sort of amused him how apologetic the she-cat was over an incident that was never to get worked up about and how she pulled her eyes from his stare. “Its…okay…?” the toms tail tip lightly touched the she-cats ginger and white flank. “Yes, I wouldn’t say so had it been otherwise.” He said with a laugh, though there was sincerity in his voice. He really did mean it, too. He couldn’t lie to any cat that had been so stressed out of spilled milk. The incident really was nothing.
Shortly after he spoke his previous words, his laughter had died down, and in a much more serious tone, he whispered to the she-cat, “You don’t have to be embarrassed around me,” he was so close to the she-cats ear when he had whispered this, it would instantly make anyone feel uncomfortable, the feeling of another’s breath tingling inside your ear, vibrating so that it tickled. Maybe it wasn’t the best way to try and assure the humiliated she-cat, but that is what he did. The tom pulled his head back from her face, and then gently licked the she-cat shoulder. Her scent was unlike any other cats he had ever been around before; he couldn’t even find the right words to describe the smell. He inhaled, letting the she-cats scent flood his nostrils. It was overwhelming and it made his heart beat faster a little bit fast. He felt light-headed. Then the thought ran through his head, ‘Do I like her?’ No, he couldn’t; he had so reason to, but in depths of his heart, he knew from the first time he saw he that he might have had a little crush on her and he wanted to be with her, to be able to see her everyday. Always. “I just wanted you to know that...”

Feeling him touching her yet again she looked up at him, feeling his tail tip resting against her flank. “Yes, I wouldn’t say so had it been otherwise.” She gave a small smile, liking the sound of his laugh. It made her feel calm and really at ease. She wanted him to laugh more, but it had died down, creating a serious atmosphere all of a sudden. She could feel his hot breath near her ear. “You don’t have to be embarrassed around me,” she felt uncomfortable...yet she didn't really mind it that much despite the way she felt. A ginger ear flickered back as she felt his tongue brush her shoulder fur. She relaxed against his touch, eyes watching him as she raised her head. She leaned over, giving his ear a lick, a sign of trust.
“I just wanted you to know that...” She cleared her throat, "I...I will remember that..." Skittles shifted so she was now facing him, yellow-gold eyes staring straight into his icy blue ones. She swallowed a lump in her throat, feeling herself growing lost in the beautiful orbs. Letting out a breath she leaned forward and touched her nose against his own, whiskers brushing his muzzle. Pulling back she wrapped her tail around her paws, ears hot with a sudden blood rush to her head.

ebony;; this time the tom did not flinch as the ginge and white she-cat brushes her course tongue against his ear. "I...I will remember that..." the black tom smiled, his pools of blue glistening like fresh dew on morning grass. He eyes looking into hers, which reminded him of the sun, such a lovely thing the sun was. too bad that the day ended, the sun being sucked up by the earth, though the darkness allowed stars to shine. thankfully the sun would rise again, it wonderful rays lighting and warming up everything it touched. the way her eyes affected him was much like the sun, in the way that it made in feel happy and warm inside when she looked at him.
the touch of the she-cats soft, moist nose against his was odd, but in a comforting sort of way. the feeling of her whiskers brushing against his tickled, but not awkward. then as fast it begun it ended with the she-cat pulling away, he was guessing she felt embarassed or uncomfortable, for she had wrapped her tail around her paws and he could smell it in her scent. he tilted his head to the side a bit, "you must not have forgotten what i told you already, have you?' he chuckled, leaning forward and brushing the top of the she-cats forehead with a quickly lick of his tongue.

She swallowed yet again, unsure of what to say or do. She felt...inexperienced...in situations like this. She felt herself growing more and more at ease and comfortable with the close proximity of the handsome tom. She had touched him, which was rare, she never touched anyone, nor let anyone be so close, due to her mental instability. She could hear a faint chuckling in her head, Grape, of course, the more mature and 'good' of the two voices. She trusted Grape, yet she knew how Grape could be, embarrassing and liked sticking her nose into buisness. Though Grape knew more things about relationships and what to do, which is why she gave control to her once in a while.
"you must not have forgotten what i told you already, have you?' Feeling his tongue brush her forehead she leaned in, nostrils twitching as she took in his scent. "M'sorry Eb...just not use to being so...close...to anyone...you're probably the only one I'll let get so close...I'm just so scared...knowing what Lime can do," she shivered, inching closer to him, placing her chin on his shoulder, ears flickering back. She liked this, the closeness with him, she didn't mind it at all. She pressed a little more into his fur, liking the feeling of it against her cheek, it was soft and warm. She just liked...everything about him, this. It was different.

ebony;; "M'sorry Eb...just not use to being so...close...to anyone...you're probably the only one I'll let get so close...I'm just so scared...knowing what Lime can do," Lime? That must have been the ‘second’ voice he heard early. Then he felt the weight of the she-cats chin on his shoulder and her fur brushing against him. She was warm, it was nice. Ebony smiled, looking down at the she-cat with his icy blue eyes. He licked the top of her head once more, and then gently placed his chin on her head, a purr rumbling in his throat. He was the only one she let get so close. “Why am I the only one?” the black tom ask, though he thought it was quite obvious that the she-cat liked him, but he just want to know for sure, not just assuming it because it was what he wanted to hear. He hoped that she shared the same feelings for him as he did for her. The tom longed to be hers. For there to be an ‘us.’ For them to be ‘together.’ Maybe it was silly to be wishing for this; he barely even know Skittles, other that the fact that she has two personalities, and that one of them, the ‘bad’ one of the two, was named Lime. Was the other Apple or Grape or some other fruit? Maybe Strawberry, or just shortened to be simply Berry. The fact that he was thinking these things when he hardly even knew the she-cat disgusted him. He felt shallow, and he hated shallow. But he knew how he felt, and his feelings were true; he really does care about the ginger and white she-cat. Maybe even more than he knew.

She continued to breath in his scent, it smelt of the forest yes, but there was something else about it. It was probably the best smell in the whole wide world, besides the smell of mint which was one of her personal favorites. She nuzzled against his shoulder, feeling his tongue yet again brushing through her head-fur. It felt...right, her feelings and the bits of affection. She wouldn't rather have it any other way. Her ear twitching hearing the soft rumbling. Her own throat began to rumble as a soft purr came out. “Why am I the only one?” She was unsure of what to say. She pulled away, looking up into his eyes, her eyes partially lidded.
"Because Eb...I...I like you alot...and well...I don't feel this way toward anyone else," she replied thoughtfully, hoping that she had said the right thing. She really did feel differently towards the tom than anyone else, it was attraction and something else, something that had been telling her that she needed this the day she had met him and that other loner. That thing that was telling her to get involved in a relationship with someone, learn what it is like to love and cherish someone, to know you can always count on them. Has she found that in Ebony?

ebony;; the toms heart was racing even fast than it had before. "Because Eb...I...I like you alot...and well...I don't feel this way toward anyone else," the she-cats sweet voice rung in his ears, the last bit of what she had said echoing in his head. she did like him. a lot. and he liked her. a lot. a loud purr rumbled in his throat, then the tom softly spoke the words, "i feel the same, skittles. i really do like you a lot." the tom pressed his body closer to hers. he, too, never felt this way for someone else before. was this 'love?' he didn't think so, but possible one of the early stages that would eventually evolve into 'love.' he'd say he was on stage two; acceptance of these feelings and admitting them. the tom looked down at the she-cat, his icy blue eyes half-closed, showing how content he truly was.
he wasn't exactly sure what he was suppose to do at this point, he never really had anything like this before. not even a friend; it had always been just him and his sister, ivory. his parents were killed, or so they think, when he and ivory were just kits. he doesn't ever remember what they looked like. he and his sister usually avoided others cats, though time to time the two would met some friendly characters passing on by . they never stay long, probably got bored of him and ivory; they didn't really do anything other than sleep, he didn't, at least, occassionally going out and hunting something other than mice. he had all he really needed right here in the barn; plenty of mice to caught, water that was given to the horses, and his sister. he wasn't much of the exploring type, he liked a nice, quiet life, though he wasn't so sure about his sister. it was a lot more common than it had been before for the lovely off-white she-cat to off on her own, usually not coming back until sunset. he never really asked where she went; he wasn't one to poke his nose into other business, though sometimes he did worry. had the she-cat found someone? did she have all the she needed? he might have had all he needed in the, but not all that he wanted. did ivory? did skittles?

She didn't completely understand what she felt, it was like nothing she had ever before. She breathed in his scent, so warm and comforting. Skittles could feel something probing into her senses, familiar, but not as painful as usual. She knew who was trying to gain control, she was not stupid. "i feel the same, skittles. i really do like you a lot." He too felt this strangeness? Like...winged insects fluttering in her stomach? Did he feel that? No matter how close their proximity was, they both felt like it was right? She opened her mouth to reply, but she felt her control slipping, and something different taking control.
"Before I go, I must tell you one thing. You hurt this poor girl, I will let Lime take care of you, for I am not a violent being. I am Grape, it is wonderful to meet you..." a mature voice, so much different than the violent one's, yet so very similar to Skittle's own voice. Her pink nose twitched, a smile curling on the muzzle. Control came back, she shivered a little, it always grew slightly cold when she came back into control. She was glad it hadn't been Lime. She couldn't hear the sadistic piece of foxdung, which was a good thing, though it could turn out to be very painful later. It was Lime's choice to make it painful, she didn't have to though. The orange and white she-cat merely continued to smile, rubbing the side of her muzzle gently against his own.
